Workshop 1 Jersey – Domestic Abuse & Psychological well-being of children – the psychological issues of children presenting to mental health services following exposure to domestic violence. Dr. Bryn Williams CAMHS Children and young people who are exposed to violence within the home are at risk of developing psychological difficulties. Those presenting to child mental health services, at different stages of their development, may display a range of emotions and behaviours in response to such trauma. Issues of resilience, the security of early attachment, and the emergence of internalizing and externalizing behaviour difficulties will be explored and form the basis of our discussion for working with children in domestic violence. Case examples will be introduced to help facilitate discussion Downloads Workshop Notes PRESENTER BIOGRAPHY Bryn Williams To follow |
